A Star Upon a Mountaintop

This is a response to a picture prompt given in a drabble challenge. I didn't even know what a drabble is before this. One hundred words? How hard can that be? Harder than it sounds!

The paparazzi knows no bounds. I suppose I should be grateful they followed me today. They recorded one feat of which I’m actually proud.

Being a child star sounds like a dream to many, but it was simply work for me. My family counted on me. My family became just another group who saw me as a goose that lays golden eggs.

I never did anything important. I just did popcorn roles on popcorn shows. I want to be remembered for something grand.

Scaling a mountain? That’s not something you do everyday. That’s a feat to be remembered! That’s accomplishment!

If you enjoyed this post, please give it some applause!

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
