A Drabble: A story in exactly 100 words

Death can be a welcome reprieve.

Zach had fought his debilitating disease for years. It was painful, and it never got better. He and his family had made sizable donations toward a cure for years. It was all to no avail. There was no cure in sight.

The pain was often almost too much to bear. In the throws of his pain, he thought of ending it all, but he couldn’t do that to his children.

When he came back to himself, he wondered if it would be better than watching him waste away.

Death can be a welcome reprieve.

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
