Enchanted

She stood before the crowd, nervous as she had never been before. After an initial cracking of the voice, she closed her eyes and imagined she was singing to Roderic.

He always put her at ease and supported her art.

What she didn’t know is that her voice was like sunlight. It made people feel warm and blessed.

By the time she reached the chorus, the crowd was beguiled…bewitched…enchanted.

As she finished, she opened her eyes to see the crowd, already on their feet. The applause was resounding.

She never knew karaoke could be so fulfilling.

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
