It’s October 4, and Autumn is finally here! Just yesterday the temperature got into the 80s. Today, the high will be 63 degrees.

It is time for the trees to start displaying their multi-colored finery. It is time for the leaves to fall and crunch beneath our feet. It is time for bonfires to blaze and time for sweaters.

It is time for my favorite season of the year to commence.

I’m anxious to enjoy it. All too soon the page will turn and it will be time for Winter to take its turn.

The mosaic of leaves

Provides a splendid

Canopy before

Falling to provide

Carpeting,

Crunching underfoot

And resonating

Its accompaniment

As we stroll along in

Cozy sweaters and warm

Socks.

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
