Life of a Mother

One tentative hop

At a time

Over the tremoring

Rope

Is how my mother

Lived life.

An idea, a wish,

A plan

Then a tentative hop

Toward the goal.

A husband, a child,

A tremoring marriage,

A child in need

Of her

Is how my mother

Lived life.

One disease: two pills.

Another disease:

Fourteen pills, a tremoring body,

And a bed

Is how my mother

Ended life.

If you liked this poem, please give it a heart!
