My daughter and her new husband

Nuptial Semi-Trimeric

Early this summer two events happily coincided. My May/June edition of Writer’s Digest arrived, and my daughter asked if I would write a poem and read it at her wedding.

Of course, I happily agreed!

For a little while I ruminated on what to write, and nothing was really working for me. Then came the day that I opened my magazine to page 14 and saw a little article about a new form of poetry “devised by award-winning poet Charles A. Stone.” This form is called the Trimeric.

I read the rules for writing in this style, and because I’m me, I decided to tweak it a bit. My daughter said I should feel free to share the poem after the wedding was over, and so, here you have my Semi-Trimeric.

Love saturates the air

In this roof, we’ve gathered under.

What God hath joined together

Let no one rend asunder.

In this roof, we’ve gathered under

With family and friends,

A true love is celebrated,

A union that never ends.

What God hath joined together

Are two hearts that beat as one

And grow ever closer

In trials and in fun.

Let no one rend asunder

What God has truly blessed,

Two hearts joined on Earth

Until their final rest.

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
