Treasures

A gown trimmed

In delicate lace

For a wedding day

Long ago taken place.

A pair of blue booties

Knitted by hand

Sent to a child

From another land.

An album treasured,

Though it was not gold,

By a couple whose story

Is the one that it told.

A beloved book,

You breathe a small sigh,

So happy yet so tragic

That you nearly cry.

These simple treasures

And many more…

New memories for sale

In a second-hand store.

I love to write and self-published my first book of poetry last year, a book of Haiku this year, and a book of short stories later this year!
